Hi I was wondering if anybody had any advice for me on spreaders.
For the last 3 years I have sailed this boat just fine but always a little concerned on the spreaders.
They always sag down and there’s nothing on the end of the spreader in order to keep them in place is just a plastic run with tape over the ends.
As well as this the angle of the spreaders points backwards at more of an angle then other h boats I’ve seen as well as having a pin in the spreader which it joins the mast that allows this forward backward movement. Which can only effect the sagging more.
Does anybody have any information on what could help ?
Kiitos avusta mun Suomen kieli taito ei ole riitava hyvin selittää suomeksi 😅
Spreaders possition

Re: Spreaders possition
I’m pretty bad at geomethrics, and I don’t know what defines the actual angle of the spreaders.
In my H-boat the heel of the spreader can move quite freely in its fitting: there’s just one clevis pin thru one set of holes thru the spreader heal and the fitting. So it basically can point to whatever direction within those limits. But after tightening the shrouds the spreaders seem to point where they should.
I don’t know if they just make the shreads go from their top to deck the shortest way… or as much pointing backwards as the fitting allows. Dunno really.
